PHASE 1 EXERCISES

The following exercises are listed in almost every publication reviewed as acceptable beginning exercises for people suffering from frozen shoulder. Note that you don’t need to perform every exercise. Some exercises duplicate goals and objectives so select those that feel best. The goal of this section is to prevent the shoulder from becoming frozen. It’s also prudent to tackle a small problem early and get on top of it before it progresses to a major issue. The exercises in this section can be used in either case. If you desire, you may perform any of these exercises on both sides. Select two to three exercises to perform; as you progress, add and delete exercises as you desire.

As you improve, and with medical approval, consider adding a light weight to the standing exercises. Note that the weight is not intended for strength building, only to provide traction.
